    It’s been one week since…

I can’t say this last week of my #freshstart has been difficult, but I definitely can’t say its been a walk in the park.  Well, I really can’t say it’s been a walk in the park cos all it’s done is RAIN in typical Auckland spring weather 😭, making going to the park a difficult task. So now that I’ve got my weather complaints off my chest, I figure I better update you guys on how I’m doing.  As I said in my first blog post, I mainly have 3 changes I need/want to make over the next 3 months. Eating Right: Being a little warmer I’m finding this isn’t…

    It’s a Good Day for a #FreshStart

If you’ve got kids, you’ll know how much I dislike winter.  Not because of how cold it is (tbh it could be even a little warmer and less wet!), but because of all the bugs it seems to bring with it.  It’s only when you actually become a parent, that you can appreciate how many bugs you didn’t pick up as an adult.  It sometimes seems that kids pickup each and every bug there is, and as the caring sharing souls they are, pass it on to you.   After weeks of either being nurse or patient or both at once, in the mental fog that comes with lack of…

    Surviving The Food Show

If you haven’t guessed from this blog already, I love food! Be it trying new stuff or experimenting in the kitchen, I love it all 😃  Thankfully, my kids have picked up on this and I don’t usually have many issues with them trying new things (eating on time is a different story tho O.o).  Of course, buying a whole jar of something to find out the whole family hates it, can get quite expensive so going to The Food Show Auckland is the best thing ever! So yesterday was the Preview Day for The Food Show Auckland, and leaving one monkey at school and the other with her Gran…

6 Tried & Tested Ways to Soothe a Child’s Cough

Eventually you get to a stage in your adult life, where you can say, great I’ve had every cold there is and I’ve gained immunity so I should get only one a year (if that).   That is, until you have kids! In order for them to build up their immunity they, of course, will pick up EVERY cold & cough known to man! Well it sure feels that way! Which usually means you might too 😞  Unfortunately for my kids, they seem to have picked up my ability to keep the cough way after the cold is done.   If you’re that mum who is being driven crazy by…

    Ring Video Doorbell Review

Lets face it.  Most of us mums have been here – the kid has FINALLY gone down for a nap, with only 30 minutes of protesting this time.  You’ve put the washing on, and have sat down to enjoy that cuppa before miss sunshine wakes, when the doorbell goes. Is it the courier with the much anticipated parcel for you, or is it the nosy neighbour down the street wanting a chat and who seems to sense that you’re behind the door checking who it is? Unfortunately for me, my kids don’t nap these days, so it’s usually me going to answer the door with a whinging tag along toddler…

    EASTER BAKING,  IN THE KITCHEN

Sweet Soft Boiled Chocolate Easter Eggs

There’s no doubt about it, with Easter eggs on sale straight after Valentine’s Day we must consume ALOT of chocolate before Easter even hits the calendar month.  With the current trend of making cheesecakes, coffee & hot chocolates in Easter eggs I thought I’d add this to the mix 🙂  A slightly healthier version of Easter eggs for breakfast 😛   I used standard hollow (hunting) eggs and regular yoghurt but you can always substitute dark chocolate/dairy free hollow Easter eggs and coconut/soy yoghurt to make a dairy free version.  The dippers / soldiers I used wafer biscuits but if you were so inclined sticks of French toast would be…
